PAINTING TIPS 101 WORDS DIRECTLY FROM A PROFESSIONAL PAINTER
I had the privilege to be able to get direct advise from a professional painter solely for this blog. I asked him a total of 5 questions as to the key components a home should have when it comes to the paintjob. He knows without a doubt that if we exercise his tips "you will most definitely catch home buyers attention!"
1. what is the most common misconception about painting?
"the process-- people tend to think that painting is just running a brush against the wall. there are mandatory steps such as taking time on prepping. I usually take a full day to focus on just that" why? " because prepping includes caulking, pudding, sanding & priming."
2. any secret "ingredient" you use towards your prepping process?
"the primer brand KILLZ makes all the difference. once applied killz will bring out cracks that would otherwise be near impossible to catch. It gives the overall effect of proffessionalism and will provide better results"
3. what is the most expensive mistakes do people seem to make?
" People tend to rely on 2 in 1 paint & primer instead of using regular coat of primer followed by the paint, i guess they assume they are saving when in all actuality they need to apply now 2x over!"
4. can you use any kind of paintbrush?
"Not really. There are specific types of brushes for the type of paint you use whether it be oil base, latex, stain etc."
5. most important thing to keep in mind when painting your home?
"The color scheme. I always recommend using oil base on the interior to give house clean finish and for exterior use either dark color for walls light color for trims or vice versa that way you can keep the contrast which is what brings the home to life!"
hope this gave you some insight to keep in mind for your next project!
